Special appointments

Cervical smears

If you have received a letter informing you that your cervical smear is due please mention this when booking the appointment. You will then be given an appointment with sufficient time for a cervical smear to be taken.

Coils/Contraceptive Implants

Patients are now directed to contact Spectrum to arrange long acting contraception such as coils and implants.

We have clinics to fit and remove coils for HRT or Menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding) only .

For the contraceptive pill and emergency contraception you can still book at the practice.

Adoption Medicals

Longer appointments are needed so please inform the receptionist when booking.

HGV Medicals

Longer appointments are needed so please inform the receptionist when booking.

Minor Surgery

If you think you may require minor surgery, please ask about appointments at our reception.

Medical Students

We are a training practice for medical students. From time to time students sit in with our GPs, Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistants as part of their training. We feel that we are playing a valuable role in the education of the next generation of doctors, and feedback from ‘real’ patients in the GP surgery is an important part of their learning. You will always be asked for your permission for a student to be present during your consultation, and you have the right to refuse.
