Using the GP online system: SystmOnline, it’s easy to register and convenient to use 24 hours a day 7 days a week - Online
Using your NHS Account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App) - In Person
Bring the paper form to the surgery, during opening hours and post it in the prescription box - By Post
Posting your request to us. We can post it back to you when done, if you send us a stamped addressed envelope - We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone or email
These accounts show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can chose the ones you need.

You should contact them each time you order your medication for them to know when to retrieve your prescription so they can prepare it for you, ready for when you to call to collect it.
For those who do not have a nominated pharmacy you will be given a TOKEN which can be taken to any pharmacy, just like a prescription.

Collecting your prescription
You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 2 working days after you have ordered it.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- On the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- At your GP practice
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

How the EPS works
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) allows prescriptions to be sent electronically from the GP practice to a pharmacy of your choice.
How do I start using EPS?
You will need to choose the pharmacy that will dispense your prescribed medicines. Your pharmacy of choice will be referred to as your nominated pharmacy. You can change or cancel your nominated pharmacy at any time.
Is EPS reliable, secure and confidential?
EPS is an established service that has been available for many years. It is easy to use, and you don’t need access to a computer or electronic device.

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner, practice nurse or practice pharmacist at least once a year to review their regular medications. Please ensure that you book an appointment in good time to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
About pharmacists
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:
- coughs
- colds
- sore throats
- tummy trouble
- aches and pains
They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.
Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
